The vessel "Makana" which is owned and operated by Road Town Fast Ferry Services in the BVI sank at the Charlotte Amalie dock in St. Thomas, USVI, yesterday, July 11, 2012.

Confirmation from the Management and Staff of the Road Town Fast Ferry has clarified that the partially submerged "Makana" was a result of repairs that were being made on the vessel while on dry dock in St. Thomas. As a result of an error, the boat took on water which resulted in the partial submission of the vessel.

They went on to inform that there were no workers or passengers injured as a result of the incident and that the RTFF fleet continues to meet the highest Coast Guard and Regulatory Standards.

The Management and Staff of the RTFF looks forward to the continued patronage of their customers, as they deliver fast, safe and convenient ferry services to their loyal customers.
